Quantico residents Treyvon R’Shon Walston, 24, and Arrin Michelle Spence, 21, are in police custody following an investigation into the distribution of controlled dangerous substances, including fentanyl, in Wicomico County, the sheriff’s office announced.
Investigators said that a search and seizure warrant was obtained for Walston’s residence in the 25000 block of Nanticoke Road in Quantico, which led to the arrest of both Walston and Spence
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office noted that at the time the warrant was executed, Walston and Spence were in the Quantico home with a small child.
During the search and seizure, investigators said that two bags containing purple powder and a digital scale were ditched through the back door of the residence, officials said.
The investigation determined that the purple powder substance was fentanyl, and a complete search of the home revealed powder cocaine, crack cocaine, Suboxone strips, packaging material, and other items indicative of drug distribution.
Members of the sheriff's office seized:
- 96.85 grams of fentanyl;
- 14.94 grams of powder cocaine;
- .50 grams of crack cocaine;
- 10 Suboxone strips.
Investigators noted that in the State of Maryland, any subject that possesses five grams or more of Fentanyl can be charged with possession of a large amount, which has enhanced penalties.
Watson and Spence were both charged with:
- Possession of a large amount of fentanyl;
- Two counts of Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS): Possession with intent to distribute narcotics;
- CDS: Possession with intent to distribute heroin/fentanyl mix;
- Possession with intent to distribute;
- Three counts of possession of not marijuana;
- Manufacturing a narcotic;
- Possession of narcotic production equipment.
“It is clear that Walston is involved in the distribution of heroin/fentanyl and cocaine,” officials said. “ Walston and Spence were both placed under arrest and transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center.”
Both Watson and Spence are being held without bond.
